Area residents enjoyed the break in the summer heat and celebrated the Fourth of July a day early at the Medina Fireworks Festival. With the temperature in the low 70s, families congregated Thursday in the Medina Community Recreation Center parking lot to partake in a host of activities at the annual celebration.
DJ Zone Entertainment, of Bedford, pumped out hits over the loud speakers as children petted animals, enjoyed fair food and played on inflatables.
Children got their faces painted for $1, with the proceeds going to Medina High School’s Encore Entertainment Group.
Amazone Family Fun Center had a prize wheel that youngsters could spin and win various prizes and gifts at the Zone.
At dusk, fireworks lit the sky over the high school.
