Spencer celebrates the Fourth

Spencer’s annual Fourth of July Festival kicked off Thursday evening at J.B. Firestone Memorial Park off state Route 301 just south of state Route 162.

The festival is open 2 to 11 p.m. today, 1 to 11 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 7 p.m. Sunday.

Attractions include rides, fair food, carnival games, nightly bingo, live music and various shows.

Highlights include a parade at 1 p.m. today, fireworks at dusk tonight, Jungle Bob exotic animal shows at 2:30 today and 3 p.m. Saturday, and Michael Ray’s “Cirque du Papier” origami show at 1 p.m. Saturday.

Sunday is “Family Day” and there will be specials on ride and food prices.
