Man accused of raping person in diminished state

MEDINA — A Brunswick man has entered a plea of not guilty to first-degree felony rape charges in Medina County Common Pleas Court.

On June 18, a county grand jury indicted Christopher Misener, 42, of the 3100 block of Holly Drive, Brunswick, on two counts of first-degree rape. According to the indictment, he’s charged one count of forcible rape and one count of rape of a person with a diminished mental or physical ability. The indictment states both counts date to on or about May 1.

Misener was arrested July 2 at his home and entered a plea of not guilty on July 7. He is being held at the Medina County Jail on $250,000 bail. If Misener is able to post bail, he is to have no contact with the victim. A pretrial hearing is scheduled for Sept. 4.
