PHOTOS: Beekeepers harvest honey from hives at A.I. Root Candle Co.

Three beekeepers tended to hives at A.I. Root Candle Co., 623 W. Liberty St., Medina on Monday.

The Medina Bee Festival is 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Medina Library, 210 S. Broadway St. Residents can watch beekeepers open a hive at 11 a.m., they can taste wild honey and learn about beekeeping. There also will be a children’s bee costume contest, bee-inspired crafts and a balloon artist. Oak Ridge Farm and Floral of Lafayette Township will sell honey-inspired jams and jellies at the festival.
