Lodi Sweet Corn Festival kicks off, to last through Saturday

The 33rd annual Lodi Sweet Corn Festival opened Thursday afternoon and continues through Saturday night at the Letha House Field on Wooster Street.

More than 250 dozen ears of corn are predicted to be consumed during the festival.

SCHEDULE

Today
4 p.m. — Festival opens
6 p.m. — Westfield Fire & Rescue serving root beer floats
6:30 p.m. — Balloon entertainment with Samurai Balloon Guy
7 p.m. — Local artists live on stage
7 p.m. — Corn stalk javelin toss and eating and husking competitions
8 p.m. — Team of four tug-of-war
10 p.m. — Fireworks by Northeast Ohio Pyrotechnics
11 p.m. — Rides and Midway close

Saturday
8 a.m. — Lodi Elementary 5K Run
Noon — Lodi Fire & Rescue meals, includes a chicken barbecue at 4 p.m.
1 p.m. — Rides open and Midway opens
1 p.m. — Live entertainment on stage
3 p.m. — Children’s events and old-fashioned games
3 p.m. — Adult singles cornhole
5 p.m. — Adult team cornhole
6 p.m. — Country band Buckshot on stage
6 p.m. — Balloon entertainment with Samurai Balloon Guy
10 p.m. — Raffle: grand prize is $300 ($600 if present). There also will be a second-place winner and 40 other prizes
