John A. North, Jr.

OBIT FLAGJohn A. North, Jr., 88, of Brunswick Hills Township, went to his Heavenly home on Wednesday, July 16, 2014. He was born August 6, 1925 in Friendsville, Ohio, to the late John A. North, Sr. and Loa M. (nee Sulliger) North.

He married his wife Jean R. (nee Widenmeyer) North on October 27, 1962. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, serving in WWII as a naval photographer for the Joint Intelligence Center, Pacific Ocean Area. Later, he owned and operated Medina Photo Studio and Lodi Printers. He also was chief photographer for the Cleveland Cadillac Tank Plant. He loved the outdoors and had a strong patriotism for love of his country.

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his children, Randy North, John A. North III, Gina (Bret) Hotchkiss and Doug (Andrea) North; sister, Nancy (North) Hinckley and the late brother-in-law, Donald Hinckley; special nieces, Sue Nelson and Jeanie Juhas; and his tender loving grand boys, Shane, Chad and Mason.

Per family requests private services were held at the Bauer Funeral Home, Valley City, Friday, July 18, 2014, with interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman.
