James L. Craddock

Craddock_JamesJames L. Craddock, 67, passed away suddenly Monday, July 21, 2014 in Medina. He was born February 5, 1947 in Cleveland, to the late Harry and Olive (Boyd) Craddock.

Jim worked as an engineer for Smucker’s, General Tire and the Flood Company. He attended Ohio University, majoring in chemistry and received an engineering degree from Fenn College of Engineering at Cleveland State University. He was Vice President of the Lions Club of Medina and Honorary Member of the Excelsior Men’s Society. Jim enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and riding his Harley. In his earlier years, he was very active in scouting with his sons, and football and wrestling parents clubs. Jim will always be remembered for lending a hand to anyone who needed it, and worked tirelessly to feed families at Christmas.

Jim was the beloved husband of Joyce (Marshall), to whom he was married 44 years; loving father of Jon (Lori) Craddock and Joe (Ellen) Craddock; dear grandfather of Tristan, Berkeley, Mackenzie and Colton; uncle of Jason (Sara) Marshall; great-uncle of Ben and Bella; brother-in-law of Carol Marshall and Vicky Marshall.

He is preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law, Judd and Ruby Marshall; and brothers-in-law, Jerry and Judd Marshall.

Services will be held Saturday, July 26, 2014, 11 A.M., at the Waite & Son Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St., Medina. Family will receive friends Friday, July 15, from 4 until 8 P.M., at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the James L. Craddock Scholarship Fund.
