Nettie Jayne Stepp

Stepp_NettieNettie Jayne Stepp (Edwards) was born in Oppy, Kentucky to the late Rosa Johnson Stepp and Grover “Cleve” Stepp on July 1, 1931. She spent the last three years in Cabot to be near family while going through health issues.

She was raised in Delbarton, West Virginia and graduated from Williamson, West Virginia. She moved to Cleveland after marrying to work at the Chevrolet Plant in Parma. She called Medina home for 58 years of her life. There she raised two daughters and two grandchildren.

Nettie loved her community of Medina, where she was an active leader in 4-H and many endeavors her daughters and grandchildren participated in. She was passionate for the government of Medina and Ohio, where she participated and supported in several election campaigns.

Wherever Nettie was, children were always near. She was loved by friends, neighbors and family. Nettie loved her church and her church family.

Nettie was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Wade Stepp, Troy Stepp and Charlie (Margit) Stepp; son, James V. Edwards, Jr.; and daughters, Jaynie R. and Celia Verrettia (Edwards) Allred and the late James V. Edwards.

She is survived by her sisters, Irene (Sarvis) Maynard and Alice (Buck) Fields; daughter, Debbie K. and son-in-law, Randall Ferguson; grandchildren, James (Donna) Ferguson, James (Bridgett) Allred, Justin Ferguson, Courtney (Matt) Dale and Jarrod (Jessica) Ferguson; 18 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and too numerous friends to list.

Nettie loved her Lord and was never shy about letting it be known. She never knew a stranger and loved everyone like Jesus loves!

Funeral services are 2 P.M., Saturday, July 26, 2014 at Cabot Moore Funeral Home, 700 North 2nd St., Cabot, AR 72023. Visitation will be from 12 Noon until 2 P.M. in the funeral home.
