Sobriety check points Saturday on state Route 18 and state Route 3

MONTVILLE TWP. — The Medina County OVI Task Force along with the Ohio State Highway Patrol will conduct two sobriety checkpoints Saturday night.

The first will begin at 9:30 p.m. on state Route 18 (Medina Road) near River Styx Drive,  west of the Interstate 71 interchange.

The second will be at midnight on state Route 3 (Wooster Pike Road) near Lexington Ridge, just south of the city of Medina.

Both checkpoints are in Montville Township.

The checkpoints will be held in conjunction with nearby saturation patrols to aggressively combat
impaired driver related injury and fatal crashes, according to a Highway Patrol spokesperson.

To the Gazette writer: I know it can be tough to get every detail correct in a story, particularly if you are not from an area. But River Styx is a road, not a drive. It is the most traveled road in Medina County. And by not getting its name right, your post loses lots of credibility.

Check point mania is totally out of control in Medina. Vote em out!

Why aren’t you reporting the results of these checkpoints anymore? I still have yet to see stats from the one they held a week or so ago.
