WADSWORTH — It’s not an opportunity many students get, but Friday morning 10-year-old Katie Wilkinson was able to dunk her school’s superintendent in a tank of water. Beer truck crash closes highway

A collision between two semi trucks on Friday morning left hundreds of beer bottles scattered across the roadway on I-71 South in Westfield Township just south of I-76. The left lane remained closed through the afternoon as crews tried to clean up the mess. Neither truck driver was injuried. The lost beer belonged to the Akron-based Thirsty Dog brewing company, and happened to fall on International Beer Day, a celebration of local beers and breweries thoughout the world that encourages people to try new and local beers.
