Medina’s Teske makes verbal commitment to Michigan

MEDINA — Incoming Medina junior Jon Teske verbally committed to the University of Michigan on Thursday.

Teske, a 6-foot-11 center, selected the Wolverines over archival OhioState.

As a sophomore, Teske averaged 10.3 points, 7.1 rebounds and 2.9 rebounds as Medina reached the Copley Division I District championship. He is expected to have a much larger role offensively this winter following All-Ohio guard Craig Randall’s transfer to Shadow Mountain High in Arizona.

Teske, who also started when he was a freshman, is noted for his shot-blocking and mid-range shooting. He was unranked by national scouting services despite two Big Ten offers.
