Donald F. Brophy, Jr. 63, of Bowling Green, Ohio, died January 8, 2013 at Hospice in Perrysburg, Ohio. Born August 24, 1949 in Flint, Michigan, he was raised in Lodi, joining the Navy on January 4, 1967. He served as crew chief on the aircraft carrier USS Ranger, serving several deployments to Vietnam.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald F. Brophy, Sr. and Joyce (Mathews) Brophy Thomas.
He is survived by his son, Jerry of Livermore, California; sisters, Judy Johns of Elyria, Carol (Ray) O’Brien of Seville, Wendy Mitchell of West Salem and Natalie (Fred) Jacobi of Tuttle, Oklahoma; step-father, Jack Thomas of Lodi; nieces, nephew, several great-nieces and nephews, an aunt and cousins.
Service will be Friday, August 15, 2014 at 2 P.M. at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.
