Medina man escapes injury in I-90 crash, two other people hurt

ELYRIA TWP. — A head-on crash was narrowly averted on Interstate 90 about 4:25 p.m. Wednesday.

An eastbound Jeep driven by Tiffany Lewis lost a tire and crossed the median into the westbound lanes near the Ohio Turnpike split, said Sgt. Tim Hoffman, the Ohio Highway Patrol Elyria post assistant commander. The Jeep bumped a westbound Kia driven by Doreen Ganley.

Ganley, 67, of the 2600 block of Village Court in Vermilion, crashed into a ditch. Ganley wasn’t seriously injured.

The Jeep rolled over onto its hood. Lewis, 24, of Sandusky, suffered a facial injury and was hospitalized at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain, Hoffman said. Two young children in the Jeep were not seriously injured.

The tire struck a westbound Dodge pickup driven by Kevin McGreevy. The 33-year-old McGreevy, of Medina, was unhurt.

Westbound traffic was bumper to bumper for about an hour after the crash. Traffic resumed flowing normally about 6 p.m.
