Seville is looking for a new Village Council member and zoning inspector.
Councilman Dennis Barrington resigned his seat earlier this month, explaining that the demands of his full-time job limited his ability to attend Council meetings, Mayor Gene Sulzener said.
Sulzener said he and Council members regret losing Barrington but “understand Mr. Barrington’s lack of time to perform his duty.”
The mayor will recommend a replacement, whom Council must approve within 30 days. Applications from village residents for the seat will be accepted Tuesday until 5 p.m. Sept. 12.
The village also has 30 days to find a replacement for Zoning Inspector Kevin Bittaker, who resigned, effective Aug. 25.
The mayor said Bittaker is willing to continue to perform the zoning inspector’s duties until a replacement is hired.
Applications for zoning inspector also will be accepted Tuesday until 5 p.m. Sept. 12.
Following the interview process, the mayor will make a recommendation for Council’s approval.
Applications for both vacancies are available at village hall, 120 Royal Crest Drive.
