Prep sports
Coaches are asked to call in sports results the night of the game. For daytime events like cross country, track and tennis, results should be called in by 9 p.m. For nighttime events, coaches should call the office by 10:30 p.m. Saturday events should be called in on Sunday between 5 and 8 p.m. There is no sports staff in the office on Saturdays.

Amateur sports
Results should be turned in within one week of the event — no later. Results can be e-mailed to sports@ohio.net, faxed to 440-329-7282 or mailed to The Gazette, 885 W. Liberty St., Medina, OH 44256. Complete information must be provided, including the final score for both teams, first and last names of players, etc. A contact person’s phone number must be included. This pertains to youth soccer, bowling, baseball, softball, etc. Forms are available at The Gazette office.

Sports meeting notices
Information must be turned in at least three days before a meeting.

Etc.
We will get Etc. in at least once. There is no guarantee an item will be published more than once. The day on which the Etc. will run is The Gazette’s choice.

Sports story ideas
Ideas should be submitted to the sports editor or assistant sports editor. They can be submitted by fax, e-mail or regular mail. When faxing information, be sure to call and verify the information was received.

Worth noting
For the most part, the sports staff works evening hours (after 5 p.m.). Between 5 and 10 p.m. is the best time to reach staff members.
